Lessons from the Water, Travel, and Life

What the Journey Has Taught Me

Through fishing, scuba diving, hiking, travel, community service, cultural learning, and more than three decades of professional life, I’ve learned that some of life’s most valuable lessons come from unexpected places. Sometimes they come from the water, a trail, a shared meal, a new tradition, or the simple act of seeing the world through someone else’s eyes.

Like looking through a kaleidoscope, the colors do not always appear in perfect order — but together, they create something meaningful. These collection of reflections on patience, perseverance, relationships, service, gratitude, culture, and the experiences that continue to shape and widen my perspective are presented in that same spirit: pieces of life, memory, adventure, service, and learning, shared as they come into view.
